Birthday Cake Card for my lovely SIL

This card was originally made for my brother as his favorite color is orange but when I started the inside I thought is was too plain and started adding Prima flowers and gems and realized this was supposed to be a guys card, so I ended up making him a new one. At the time this design was based off of one of Taylor's cupcake challenge (#15) sketches.

So here I had a card that I couldn't use for him and then thought hey this would be a really great card for his wife, Stacey. So two months later I got to give it to her for her b-day that was 2 days ago.

Here is Taylor's sketch:

Here's was my take on it:

B-day Party Girl and 2 Sketches 4 You

Whoo-hoo, another fun sketch to work off of from 2 Sketches 4 You with this week featuring Laura's 3rd sketch.

This week I needed to make two b-day cards for two friends of mine that are twins. They look very much alike but their personalities are a bit different. And I have to admit that I'm not too good of a friend to them since their b-day was this past weekend and I'm just making their cards now! This one is for the twin (Lori) that loves to get everyone together so I went with the Party Girl Theme to go with her personality. I did a lot of popping up on the dresses by cutting some from the left over paper and used sticky squares to pop them! Then I dressed them up with some Stickles and Glossy Accents. I'm also getting into this stitching thing, I don't know why I was so nervous to give it a try...

Tomorrow I'll get working on the other twin's card (wish me luck!)

Here's Laura's very cool sketch:

And here's my take on it:

17th B-day Card and Laura & Kazan's brand new site 2 Sketches 4 You

Here's a card I made my boyfriend's son who just turned 17 and I used Kazan's sketch from her brand new site 2 Sketches 4 You with Laura. I'm very excited about this new blog, it has been created be two very very talented ladies, Laura Davis and Kazan Clark.

Unfortunately I only had time to do a card with Kazan's sketch. I love Laura's but I wasn't able to get it done in time, but still plain on using it and letting her know when I do.

So, anyway, here's A.J.'s 17th b-day card:

Altered Over the Hill? card for the Cricut "Show us your Best" contest

As some of you must already know Cricut had a "Show us your Best" contest in which the winner gets 3 carts of their choice and their project will be featured in the next Cricut infomercial. So...I took the design of the card that I had the most fun making and coincidently the most carts used! In the original design I used 5 carts but I decided to make some changes to this version which I ended up adding another cart to the recipe! I used the CDS and there was one cut that I made that I had to change the cart 5 times!

Here's the recipe for this version:
Cricut carts: AE, Celebrations, Cuttin' Up, Doodlecharms, Doodletype and Opposites Attract (strangely enough I didn't use anything from Beyond B-days).
Stickles: Xmas Red
Blossoms: Making Memories Jumbo Daisy Spotlight
Various rhinestones and self-adhesive gems
Cuttlebug: D'Vine Embossing Folder
Ribbon: Offray Stripe Red-Bk and red ric-rac
CS: White, Black, Red, Brown, Metallic Papaya, Neutral Tan
DPs: DCWV The Glitter Stack

For the rest of the pictures that I did exactly the same for this project and also of the different inside of the card design, click here.

Over the Hill?

Talk about cutting it down to the wire...I had to have this card in the mail this morning in order for it to get to my dad in time for his 60th b-day...I was literally finishing the envelop a few minutes before the mail person came by...what a rush! Anyway, my dad is turning 60 and if you knew him you would never guess it, as like I said in the card, he's in better shape than I am!

I think I used more cartridges on this card than any other single project:
Doodletype, Cuttin' Up, AE, Beyond B-days and Celebrations!!
I used the CDS and there was one cut that I made that I had to change the cart 4 times!
But I think this was the 1st project (I think) that I've done that I didn't use any stamps, inks or chalks, but couldn't stay away from MM blossoms, ribbon & rhinestones. :)

And dad's favorite color is red, do you think I used enough?...

My to do list...

*Become a Project Corner & Spotlight winner on the Cricut™ Chirp Newsletter (or at least a highlighted thread)
*Ongoing Memorial Journal for Morgan
*Scrapbook for my favorite moments at DisneyLand and DisneyWorld (my other obsession, big, big, big Mickey fan!)
*Scrapbook for my trip to Europe
*Scrapbook for the last two years of the kids for my DF's mom and one for his Dad.
